Welcome from Auxiliary Bishop Andrew Cozzens

Pope Francis says, “The joy of the gospel fills the hearts and lives of all who encounter Jesus.”  This is the truth I constantly experience when I visit our Catholic schools. Our schools are places of joy, hope and vitality in our community because in our Catholic schools, children are loved into being the best they can be. I am so grateful to all who contribute to the success of Catholic education, and I am excited to support the Catholic Schools Center of Excellence (CSCOE) in an innovative effort to strengthen Catholic grade schools in the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis.

In collaboration with the archdiocese, CSCOE shares best practices among Catholic schools and provides local experts as resources bridging our schools’ most pressing needs. In just a few short months it has already had a wonderful impact. I am grateful to all the community partners who have come together to make this new effort possible.

I also offer a special word of gratitude to mothers and fathers who sacrifice to send their children to Catholic schools. We share the same loving desire you have to see your children flourish. Together, we want to help school communities accomplish their mission to form the whole child — mind, heart and soul — and give more students access to a hopeful encounter with Jesus Christ, who is “the Way, the Truth and the Life” (John 14:6).
