Welcome: Auxiliary Bishop Andrew Cozzens

“They that hope in the LORD will renew their strength, they will soar on eagles’ wings; They will run and not grow weary, walk and not grow faint” (Isaiah 40:31). With renewed strength and energy, we enter a new era of Catholic education and a new era for our archdiocese. God’s faithfulness to us is evident in Pope Francis’ recent appointment of Archbishop Bernard A. Hebda as archbishop of St. Paul and Minneapolis. We welcome Archbishop Hebda to our archdiocese, and we are delighted to have the leadership and guidance of a man with such deep commitment to Christ, our Church and our Catholic schools. I know that he will be a humble, joyful, faith-filled and energetic shepherd of our archdiocesan community. You can look forward to hearing from him in upcoming issues of the Catholic Schools Center of Excellence (CSCOE) magazine.

It has certainly been a blessed school year! As I have visited many of our schools this year, I have seen that our Catholic school leaders — along with the support of CSCOE and the archdiocesan Office for the Mission of Catholic Education — have made great strides forward, increasing both enrollment and excellence in Catholic grade schools. We continue to move in the right direction, expecting 35 expanded or new preschools to open in the archdiocese for the 2016-17 school year. We look forward to welcoming these new Catholic school families, and we anticipate another wonderful year ahead.  Thank you for all you do to share the love of Jesus Christ with the next generation.
