Welcome from Auxiliary Bishop Andrew Cozzens

Catholic schools transform lives. They form well-rounded students who grow into mature adults, prepared for life and for eternity.

This is because Catholic schools focus on the formation of the whole person — body, mind and soul. The academics, athletics, prayer and extracurricular activities work in harmony to form each child. The teachers and administrators see each student as a child of God, and thus worthy of the greatest dignity, respect and love. We seek to love them with the love of Jesus Christ and challenge them to his higher calling of love.

This approach sets our schools apart from others and has deep implications in transforming the lives of students. So often I hear about how the love and care of Catholic school teachers changed the trajectory of someone’s life. These personal testimonials are not exceptions but the norm.

We are blessed to have 79 stellar Catholic elementary schools in this archdiocese! These represent 79 opportunities for children’s lives to be transformed.
